The court cards show a luxury pattern that was designed by Ferdinand Pospischil. His name can be found on the border of the sash of the Jack of Hearts.

On the Ace of Hearts is the maker's name, an Austrian tax stamp that was in use from 1858 to 1877, and a Prussian tax stamp from Hannover that was valid from 1875 to 1878.
