These cards were produced around 1880 by Ferdinand Piatnik in Vienna.
The court cards show a luxury pattern that has been designed by J. Sürch in Vienna. His name and the city can be seen along the middle line of the Jack of Diamonds: 'J. Sürch sc: / in Wien.'.
The printer's name is twice on the Jack of Spades. Along the border of the Jack of Hearts is printed 'Eigenthum des Verlegers, / mit Vorbehalt des Nachdrucks'. This is a sort of design protection (which didn't exist at that time).
