home - cards from Hannover - taxes - collection - societies - my publications |
These cards were produced c. 1900 by Frommann & Bünte in Darmstadt for Gebr. Barasch (Barasch Brothers), a department store in Breslau (now Wroclaw in Poland).
The Deuces and court cards are those of the standard double-figured Prussian pattern, but the pip cards show ships from the German imperial fleet (except the Ten of Bells with the pack's and distributor's name).
The Unter of Hearts shows one of the trademarks of Frommann & Bünte, and the tax stamp on the Deuce of Hearts has the number 73 (Darmstadt).
