This printing sheet with the Frankfurt pattern was made around 1870. There is no indication of the printer. I have no idea whether it was ever used for actual cards; I suspect that it might be just a design model.

When you compare the cards to other packs with this pattern [ first version, second version, third version, fourth version ] you will notice that they are all slightly different. This is naturally due to the fact that standard patterns were only defined when a certain number of principally identical packs with some typical features already existed.
