home - cards from Hannover - taxes - collection - societies - my publications |
These cards were produced c. 1860 by Gustav Thieme, Leipzig. The maker's name is on the Eight of Hearts, and his initials and the name of the pack are on the Deuce of Acorns.
This is a rather normal example for a pack with the Saxon pattern. Only some of the pip cards have illustrations different from the standard. The surprising thing is that there is no tax stamp on the Under of Acorns. It may have been rubbed off as the pack is well-used.
