home - cards from Hannover - taxes - collection - societies - my publications |
This pack was made c. 1830 by Peter Diedrich Kroymann in Itzehoe.
The attribution to Kroymann is based on the fact that while the two tax stamps on the Aces of Clubs and Hearts were used in Schleswig-Holstein (which was ruled by the Danish king then) only the company of Kroymann existed.
It is a typical German pack from that time, with a double face modification of the Paris pattern in Germany, without the names on the court cards, the so-called 'provincial variant'. It is a pity that the Jack of Clubs is missing from my pack.
A similar pack without tax stamps is also in my collection.
