Around 1930, the American Playing Card Corporation in Portland, Maine, published the The name of the maker is on the Ace of Spades, and there, inside the central suit-sign, is also the name of the pack.

The court cards show George and Martha Washington as King and Queen in all four suits, and workmen as Jacks. There was also a Joker coming with the pack, which is missing from mine. It is not very spectacular, anyhow.

I am not certain about the correct dating: the pack is described in the literature as having been produced in 1934, but the box was sealed with a revenue stamp that was in use 1924 to 1929.
