Playing-Card Tax Stamps from Uruguay

This is a stamp in use from 1919 to 1949.
The text is 'REPUBLICA O. DEL URUGUAY', 'IMPUESTO INTERNO' ('internal revenue'), 'LEYES 11 Y 27 FEBRERO 1919' ('laws from 11 and 27 Feb. 1919'), and 'FABRICACION NACIONAL'. The value is '12 centesimos'.
This stamp was used for cards made in the country.
(scanned by José Manuel Murcia, and contributed by Simon Wintle)

This is another stamp in use from 1919 to 1949.
The text is mostly the same, but there is 'IMPORTACION', and the value is '22 centesimos'.
This stamp was used for imported cards.

This is a stamp in use after 1949.
The text is 'REPUBLICA O. DEL URUGUAY', 'LEY 7 SET 1949' ('law from 7 Sept. 1949'), 'IMPUESTO A LOS NAIPES' ('tax on playing-cards'), and 'No. 9 IND. URUG.'. The value is '$0.25cent' (25 centesimos de peso).

This is another stamp in use after 1949.
The text is almost identical to that of the previous stamp, but the design is changed.

This stamp is rather blurred, but it is another slightly different design in use after 1949.

And this is yet another different design in use after 1949, with almost the same text.

The last four stamps all refer to the law of 7 Sept. 1949. I have no idea why there were so many concurrent different designs.

The stamp was on the Seven of Coins for Latin-suited cards and on the Ace of Hearts for French-suited cards.

Later, tax bands were used to seal the packs.

This band was in use after 1960. A law of November of that year is mentioned on the band, but possibly the overprint was applied later.
The total price is '$ 250'. The selling price includes the tax as a percentage (30% = $ 75).
The band was used for cards made in the country.

This is a band that was in use most probably around 1975. It mentions a law from February, but regretfully the right end with the year is missing.
The selling price includes the tax as a percentage (30%), but the total price is missing as it is also on the right end.
The band was used for cards made in the country.
