With the unified tax legislation in Germany, each stamp showed a number indicating at which tax office the cards were stamped.

Several numbers changed over time, but most of the more prominent cities where cards were produced kept their number (or numbers).

Some of the numbers are shown in the following table. Please be aware that for a definite attribution you should consult one of the lists mentioned in the reference section.
